The Art of Image Restoration
Vintage photography can be a wonderful resource to bring a sense of timelessness and history to any space. The only trouble with vintage is that the years can take their toll.
The original beauty of these classical photographs becomes obfuscated by dust and scratches, and the decay of film emulsion over time lowers image contrast and saturation.
Each of these Florida historical images have been carefully restored. This is a slow, painstaking process done digitally by hand. It is always a balancing act of maintaining the original characteristics of the photograph while creating an image worthy of hanging on the wall.
The following images represent a "before and after" look at extreme close-ups of some of the images in the gallery.
